Behind The Brewery: Gary Rogers, Co-Founder and Chief of Business Operations at True North Ale Co.

This week, we’re joined by Gary Rogers, the Co-Founder and Chief of Business Operations over at True North Ales. A native of Boston’s North Shore, and a former teacher, lacrosse player, global sales leader, marketer for IBM, and traveler, Gary found his passion for beer in the many facets of his life.

Back in 1984, he began home brewing, and gained a taste of brewing in a commercial environment after winning a 2013 Ales for ALS Home Brewers Competition. As a reward, he collaborated with the brewmaster at Cape Ann Brewery to produce a 10-barrel batch of his own “Iron Horse Double-E IPA” recipe. The resulting product was sold to benefit the ALS charity at several local restaurants on Boston’s North Shore.

We talk about how he started True North Ales with his son and how it’s developed into a family business. We dive into the award winning beer that is brewed, the transformation of the brand, and of course, a roundup on all things Boston sports.
