Bryant Bulldogs: Welcome to the America East.

Today began a new era for the Bryant Bulldogs, as the former NEC Champs embarked in their opener of America East play, and the true introduction into the conference. Their opponent was Binghamton

The Bearcats came into Smithfield, hoping to spoil New Years Eve, and show that it won't be easy for the newcomer to waltz into a strong group of teams. Binghamton didn't play spoiler, but they did prove that wins won't come easy. In the hard fought battle, we witnessed a back-and-forth scoring affair, but the Bulldogs came out on top to close out 2022.

The man of the match and the leading scorer of the America East, Sherif Gross-Bullock, shined yet again, draining a career high 29 points. Earl Timberlake collected another double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Doug Edert drained 10 points in the win.

The preseason rankings for AE Hoops had Bryant 2nd in the conference, with Binghamton 4th. Morey Hershgordon of WPRI12 indicated that this could be a potential semifinal game come March. Only time will tell. Onto the new year, and onto the January 5th game that everyone has had circled since Bryant joined the America East... Vermont.
