CFB Roundup - Week 2. Quick hitters and thoughts from the College Football Top 25.

Dare I ask, is Texas back?

For the first time since Joe Burrow did it back in 2019 with LSU, Alabama was handed a loss on their home field. Quinn Ewers and the Texas Longhorns marched into Tuscaloosa on College Game Day and shutdown the Tide in front of their own fans. The Texas gunslinger tossed for 349 yards and three TDs, knocking off Bama out of the Top-4 and elevating their status in the AP Top 25. It's hard to look down on this performance, they got the job done. The question still stands though, is Texas actually back?

The Pac-12 is legit

Our very own Gracie Marx just blogged about this, and she has been saying this since August - The Pac12 may be the best conference in all of College Football. The new AP Poll was released today and the Pac-12 has EIGHT teams in the top 25. The PAC-12 is also UNDEFEATED through the first 2 weeks of the season. They are a whopping 18-0 to start the season with MULTIPLE Heisman candidates.

Is Ohio State overrated?

Watching Quinn Ewers dominate for Texas, Ohio State fans might claim him as one of their own soon (just liked they did with Burrow). The Buckeyes are undefeated, and are playing well, but they aren't doing it for me. They scored just 35 points against Youngtown State. Marvin Harrison had four catches for 122 yards and two TDs in the first quarter. He finished with seven catches for 160 yards. McCord (258 yards, 3 TDs) emerged as the starting quarterback heading into Week 3 against Western Kentucky. Still very solid, but it's Youngstown State? Just like last week, just 23 points verse Indiana? Their defense has been solid, but I need more from the offense to consider them a top-4 team in the country.

This Quarterback Class is absolutely stacked

Caleb Williams (USC), Shadeur Sanders (Colorado), Drake Maye (UNC), Quinn Ewers (Texas)Michael Pinex Jr. (Washington), Jordan Travis (Florida State), Bo Nix (Oregon), JJ McCarthy (Michigan), Sam Hartman (Notre Dame), Jalen Milroe (Alabama) - the list goes on. It's only been two weeks, but this group of rising stars are making some serious noise.
