Come On You Rogues: A 6-1 victory to kick off the season. Providence City advances in the Werner Fricker Open Cup.

It was like the Rogues never lost a step. After weeks of training, Providence City FC assembled on Sunday like the Avengers and showcased to New England that their unit is here to hunt for more hardware.

Today was their first match of the 2024 campaign, which also was the opening round of the Werner Fricker Cup. Playing on one of their home turfs in Central Falls, and dawning their new House Enterprise Kits, Providence City delivered a commanding start, scoring three goals within the first twenty-two minutes of play.

Justin Freitas led all scorers with three goals, followed by two from Taff Wadda, and one by Papa Badiane. Oliver Larente was lockdown in net, and the quartet of Tyler Freitas, Emmy Debrito, Mateo Giraldo, and Aidan Bagley played the full 90 minutes to lock down Worcester County.

The Rogues will host Atletico Boston next weekend in the quarterfinals of the Werner Fricker Open Cup.
