A quick primer of what to expect from our Patriots coverage this season.
Last year, I chronicled the New England Patriots. There was certainly a lot to cover; between the inconsistencies, the questionable offensive decisions, the streaks, the mountainous highs and crushing lows, there was no shortage of takes to be delivered.
This season will be pivotal for the Patriots in many ways. They've revamped their coaching staff, including adding former Alabama offensive coordinator & Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien. They swapped Jakobi Meyers for JuJu Smith-Schuster, and added Mike Gesicki to replace the underwhelming Jonnu Smith. But most importantly, all eyes fall to the third-year quarterback, Mac Jones.
The 2023 season for Mac Jones is all about execution. 3 years into his pro career and on the cusp of free agency, Jones has endured far more than most young quarterbacks typically do. Between coaching changes, a lack of a reliable play caller, and sporadic performances from expected top-caliber players, Mac's first two years have been rocky. Now, with more weapons and some of the best offensive minds in the game at his disposal, the time for excuses is officially over. It's a make-or-break season for Mac Jones - how will he live up to the moment?
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride: Mac's Big Moment is underway.
