From speculations, to multiple reports, to dozens of live streams and network shows, it's been a whirlwind. Tonight, it officially became official. Alexa, play Theme From New York, New York. It's time to start spreading the news!
For the first time in a long time, the Yankees fans got their superstar, and spoke a narrative into an existence. It didn't take gold glover Anthony Volpe, or future star in Jason Dominguez. Not even 2x All-Star Gleyber Torres. A package of Michael King, Kyle Higashioka, and a few prospects got the New York Yankees JUAN SOTO. Brian Cashman, welcome back to the good graces!
One year rental or not, this is a win-now move, and you land a generational player in Juan Soto. He is one of the best young talents in Major League Baseball. A generational talent, a batting champion, a World Series champion, a future MVP. This is what dreams are made of.
With Verdugo yesterday, to Soto and Grisham today, the Yankees now have MLB ready outfielders, who guess what, are all lefties. The short porch is about to see some noise. Take a little look at what 2023 is going to look like, compared to last year.
2024 Outfielders
Starting: Judge - Soto - Verdugo
Bench: Stanton-Grisham-Cabrera

2023 Outfielders

Now that's an upgrade. Better defensively, better offensively, overall just better. It sucks to see Mike King go, Drew Thorpe has a lot of potential, and I will always appreciate Kyle Higashioka, but this is a massive win, and a massive trade. And just like any Yankees fan, I am stoked, but the job isn't done.
Here's the playbook for how things need to go.
Sign Yamamoto
Trade for a Marlins starting pitcher
Fill in the wholes
Get healthy
Win the World Series
Sign Soto to an Extension
Bring back glory!
We back!
