Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-D&B. Dave & Busters to allow customers to bet on arcade games. What a world.

Gambling dates back before written history, where in Mesopotamia the earliest six-sided dice date to about 3000 BCE. In 1931, Nevada legalized most forms of gambling when Assembly Bill 98 was signed into law, providing a source of revenue for the state. In 1982, the first Dave and Busters was opened in Dallas. And now, in 2024, these two worlds combine.

The arcade giant, with over 200 locations around the country, have introduced social wagering into their portfolio. Adults age 18 and older will be able to place real money wagers on arcade games with friends, with customers soon being able to wager $5 plays on Hot Shot basketball games. All plays can be made through their app.

First Jontay Porter and Fan Duel, and now this?!

You pay for points to earn rewards, and you play games that can lose said points, resulting in no rewards.

Curious to see how this ends up, but from a business side, this should easily could help their stock skyrocket - which is already up more than 50% over the past year. Digital gamification and legalized gambling are a booming market, and D&B is just following the trends.
