I'm Back (And Where Did I Go?)

After a 6+ month hiatus filled with major life changes, taking time to enjoy the little moments, and rekindling my fire for coaching, I am officially back covering all things NFL! Since the season started, I've been trying to make time and get the writing wheels turning again, and I'm finally ready to get back into what I do best: giving you all a unique perspective and in-depth analysis for the game of football.

So exactly what has been going on during my time away? For starters, I married the love of my life, Abigail Laube, on May 4th, 2023. We had a wonderful ceremony, a breathtaking honeymoon, and have enjoyed a fantastic young marriage over the past half-year. Marrying my best friend is easily the best decision I've ever made, and I can't wait to see our lives grow together. Secondly, I was hired as the Defensive Line Coach for St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, MA. Coaching again has been a blast, and I have outstanding young men I get to teach and work with every single day. Lastly, without getting into too much detail, I've also used this time to get honest with myself and reflect on my life since graduating college. I'm thrilled with where my life is at the moment, and I still want to challenge myself to be the best version of me that I can. That's where we come back to writing.

This past NFL Draft cycle was the most in tuned I've felt with my blogs since I started with the House Enterprise over three years ago. Between watching film on all of the rookies, honing in on making a more dynamic Big Board, and setting up the NFL Draft Stream with some of the other contributors, I never felt more locked in on my craft than I did during that three month stretch - all while planning a wedding and laser-focusing on my full-time job. On top of being hired at SJ, collaborating with other coaches, and meeting all of my new players, it was a grind to say the least. Since taking a step back, I've felt like I've been missing something, and I knew I needed to make time to write again.

I wanted to get this out to provide some context as to why I've been AWOL, but also to spark that flame and give myself the push I needed to get back at it. I'll be putting out at least one blog a week as we go through the rest of the NFL season, which will be kicked off with a Mid-Season Review Blog, as well as a Week 9 recap, both of which will drop next week. As far as changes go, we'll cover more with Fantasy Football, the best performers at each position group based on film and analytics, and we'll be replacing Power Rankings with Power Tiers. To elaborate, instead of ranking teams 1 through 32, I'll be categorizing teams into pockets, some of these pockets will change from week to week, as well as the teams within them.

Final Notes:

In short, we're back with new material and better content. As always, I'm open to suggestions to make my product better. Thanks for your patience, and I look forward to getting the ball rolling again!
