On November 21, 2022, Bruins Captain Patrice Bergeron made history. On an assist from a Brad Marchand goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Bergeron became the fourth member of the Black & Gold ever to reach the one thousand-point marker. On Saturday, he entered with 409 goals and 591 assists - never scored in any other uniform than the spoked B.
Saturday, December 17th marked the day he was honored by the team for this milestone. His family - wife Stephanie, and children Noah, Victoria, and Zack - joined him for the ceremony.
Johnny Bucyk, otherwise known as "Chief," presented a Tiffany Crystal on behalf of the NHL. GM Don Sweeney presented the engraved golden stick. As Bergeron was one of the great philanthropic ambassadors for the Bruins & for Boston, Bruins President Cam Neely coordinated with the Bruins Foundation to cut a check for $37,000, which Patrice will donate to a charity of his choice. The players gave a custom engraved Rolex watch, and an engraved bottle of Dom Perignon.
There will never be another Bruin like Patrice Bergeron, nor will there be another captain like him. Come #InsideTheBooth with me as we honored Bergeron last weekend.
