It's a late night after a long day, so let's just get right to our look Inside the Numbers of Wake's victory over Charlotte.
Here's how it went down, in case you missed it:
Fantastic Five: Wake somehow won this game despite getting exactly zero bench points. The Deacs' five starters all played 28 minutes or greater, with guard Cameron Hildreth limited to just six-and-a-half minutes because of foul trouble. Just two other Deacons played in reserve, with neither getting in the book. Charlotte, for its part, tallied just eight bench points.
There actually is a 'K' in Jahmir Young: Star Charlotte guard Jahmir Young achieved a milestone in the contest, notching his 1,000th career point as a 49er. The Maryland native finished the night with 27 points, bringing his total to 1,014. Young led Charlotte in scoring. Clemson transfer Clyde Trapp added 18, with forward/center Aly Khalifa scoring 10.
30 for 30: How common is it for a player to score 30 points in back-to-back games -- in the span of four days? Alondes Williams set a career-high on Tuesday, scoring 36 against VMI. He nearly tied -- or maybe even broke -- it on the Deacs' final possession. Williams said after the game that he wasn't thinking about a career-high and was just wanting to make a great play. The Oklahoma transfer did just that, making the pass to Isaiah Mucius that set up the game-winning shot. Williams led the Deacs in scoring (34) and assists (7), while tying with Mucius for the high mark in rebounds with 8.
Free throws, still free: Just as NC State before it, Charlotte struggled from the line. The Niners were just 8-for-15 from the stripe, which loomed large in a three-point game that came down to the final possession.
Mirror images: Charlotte coach Ron Sanchez said after the game that it was a tale of two halves, and he was correct. Wake led 48-34 at the half, while Charlotte outscored the Deacs 45-34 in the second 20.
