What a moment for the Denver Nuggets, and what a moment for the 5x All-Star and 2x MVP, Nikola Jokic. The Serbian center, most known for being drafted in the second round during a Taco Bell commercial, has now cemented himself as one of the all-time greats. But on a serious note, for a guy who is averaging a near triple-double in his career and winning two most valuable player awards, the Joker doesn't get enough credit for what he does.
Maybe because he plays for Denver, or maybe because he isn't a "flashy celebrity", but Jokic proved this finals, that he is one of the best to do it. In five games this finals, he averaged 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists, cruising past Miami, and earning the MVP honors. What's crazy about all of this, is that it seems like basketball isn't that hard for him, and that the NBA is just a side quest in the life of the Joker.
What makes Jokic so likeable, is the fact that he isn't flashy at all. He's a simple man. A man that cares about his family, his country, and his ponies. For someone who doesn't fit the mold as a superstar, Jokic has figured out this whole basketball thing pretty well.
