It was always USC #FTFO

What an exciting game last night! When I made my decision and committed to the University of Southern California, these were the moments I was hoping for. I'll admit, I was wrong about the state of football in Los Angeles. When I watched last night's game between USC and UCLA, I kept thinking to myself how great this was for the city and college football. I was wrong when I said this wasn't really a rivalry and the Rose Bowl would be empty. Last night was the epitome of just an all around great college football game.

I was on USC ML and it was a very nice ending to a 5-0-1 day (screw you UNC). It was sweaty and I was on the edge of my seat the entire 2nd half. Once USC punted, I thought this game was over. The USC defense couldn't stop anyone. However, they were able to pick off DTR 3 times, one of them being a game winning interception.

I hopped on Twitch Saturday morning to break down my card, and this is what I said about the matchup:

Don't want to boast too much, but I was pretty spot on about how the game would go. Side note: I try to hop on Twitch before the games around 11 AM EST to quickly break down my card. (www.twitch.tv/marxtakes)

This USC team really controls their own destiny. They need to win out and I think they will make the CFP. The thing they cannot do is get ahead of themselves. They need to take it week by week. For example, they have Notre Dame at home next week. Notre Dame is a solid football team and really come around after their season started so poorly. They need to focus on ND and then get ready for the Pac-12 title game.

With Tennessee being done and one of Michigan/OSU bound to lose, it opens up a nice spot for USC to slide into. It would be so epic if they were a #4 seed and took on Georgia. They would get killed, but it would be a fun livestream for me and content is content. I also think getting into the CFP in Lincoln Riley's first year is beyond impressive. However, again really cannot get too ahead of ourselves. Week by week. Job is not finished.

However, for now, USC runs LA. There was an all time quote last night by USC's center Brett Neilon:

I mean, what an all time quote. Another thing I wanna mention is how Caleb Williams should be a Heisman finalist. He has been spectacular this year and I would be shocked if he didn't get a seat in New York City. I think the only player who deserves more than Caleb Williams is CJ Stroud. If OSU goes undefeated, CJ Stroud is a lock for the Heisman, but I think Williams is a close second. Here are the current odds courtesy of DraftKings:

  • C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State -125 (bet $125 to win $100)

  • Caleb Williams, QB, USC +130

  • Blake Corum, RB, Michigan +1500

  • Max Duggan, QB, TCU +4000

  • Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU +4000

Whatever happens, it has been a fun season rooting for these Trojans. Cannot wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds.

FTFO.
