Met Life: Danny Dimes (and runs, blocks, gets hurt, slots, AND wins), plus the resurgence of Saquon.

Updated: Oct 16, 2022

One of the weirdest games of football, but hey, a win is a win. Old-school yet sloppy and filled with injuries, but it still counts. Years prior, this would be chalked up as a laughable loss, but the three headed coaching monster of Brian Daboll, Mike Kafka, and Wink Martindale, made this a success.

Hats off to Daniel Jones, who showed some toughness on the field today. He's known for throwing dimes, well sort of, but when the air raid wasn't working, Danny Dimes turned into Danny wheels, and he rushed for two touchdowns. They absolutely killed the Bears with the bootleg. He wound up getting a little banged up, but that didn't stop him from helping the Giants win.

One thing is for sure, Daniel Jones is a quarterback that puts his body on the line. I mean look at this block. THAT'S GRIT.

Now based off this video, it's safe to say Saquon Barkley is back. Another 100+ yard rushing game, and his elusiveness is so tough to stop. With injuries to both Jones and Taylor, Barkley stepped in as the wild-cat, and I love what Mike Kafka is doing with the offensive schemes. Jones lined up as a receiver on most of those plays just so he could hear the calls in his helmet. He relayed the plays to the offense, and Barkley ran the offense taking the snaps. It was beautiful and it worked.

This game wouldn't have been won without the defensive efforts. They held Justin Fields, with no surprise, to 163 yards and 52 yards rushing. They also sacked him six times. Dexter Lawrence played one of his best games yet. Five tackles, one tackle for a loss, 2.0 sacks, and three QB hits. He created plays for the defense, and was so disrupted.

And with that, another victory Monday is in our possession. The Giants are 3-1 and Briand Daboll is the first Giants Head Coach to start his career with this record since Tom Coughlin. Now that's awesome. Speaking of awesome, these legacy jerseys were FIRE.

Next Game

The Big Blue head across the pond to take on Green Bay. Take out the Packers win today, which was a 27-24 overtime win against the Patriots and their third string quarterback, they only have scored 31 points. The Giants defense can prove they are legit by shutting down Aaron Rodgers. The big concern will be in the quarterback room. Daniel Jones was limping with an ankle injury, and Tyrod Taylor probably has a concussion. Hopefully things clear up before they take the UK.
