Mike Trout is heading to the injured list once again, and it's sad for the sport.

Well, this is some pretty crappy news. After leading the league with 10 home runs in 29 games, news broke today that Mike Trout would be out for extended time due to a knee injury. As a fan of the sport, this is just gut-wrenching. No matter your team fandom, you still see Mike Trout as the games greatest. Sometimes, it hasn't felt like that because of his constant battles with various injuries, but he will go down as statistically one of the best to ever do it.

At just 32 years old, the future Hall-of-Famer has been sidelined a ton. From 2021 to 2023, he's missed 237 of 486 possible games, which chalks out to be 49%. Despite all of the injury obstacles, Trout is an 11x All-Star, 3x MVP, and he boasts a lifetime .300 average with 9 silver sluggers in his trophy cabinet.

At the end of the day, the game is better when he is playing, and I hope he doesn't finish his career without a ring, let alone finish early because of injuries.

He's set to miss a massive chunk of 2024, with the news of injury being a torn meniscus. The Angels are saying it's not season ending, but with at least a 2-3 month recovery post-op, we may see Trout return in July or August, and that's still a question mark. From torn thumb ligaments, to calf strains. Back inflammation , a broken hand, and now a bum knee, please don't mark this the end of Trout.
