PHOTOS: The Friars are cooking. Providence wins a big one against Texas Tech at the Dunk.

Updated: Oct 25, 2022

The crowd was an electric factory tonight. The Dunk was roaring. The student section was buzzing, and filled with cowboy hats and flannels. It was a bad night to be a Red Raider. First game of the month and it did not disappoint.

Aljami Durham, AJ Reeves, and the Friars were up against a tournament-likely Big 12 opponent, Texas Tech. Things were cruising for Providence. At one point of the game they went on a 25-6 run, taking over the lead. While the offense was moving, the defense kept it down, with a new look 2-3 zone defense, that surprised all. The unsung hero of the night was Ed Croswell. He drained 11 points on 5/5 from the field, binging down 4 offensive rebounds. Helluva game! Lot of tough calls by the officials, some even more questionable ones on top. Neither here nor there.

Providence now sits at 7-1, with an interstate battle on Saturday verse URI. Get your popcorn...

Side note - In the same week, Coach Cooley comes on the BBB Podcast, the Friars take down Texas Tech. Coincidence?
