Happy Holidays, sports fans! With Christmas falling on a Sunday this year, we've got a pretty PACKED sports-spectation schedule, providing the perfect reason to ignore your friends and family after you exchange gifts in the morning. If you were a bit disappointed with what ended up in your stocking this year, allow Will Tondo and I to help get you some extra funds for your own gift with some festive, multi-sport parlays!
Tondo's Christmas Day Parlay
5 LEGS (+2755)
Celtics ML (-190)
RJ Barrett O 23.5pts (-110)
Dolphins -3.5
DeAndre Hopkins Any Time Touchdown Scorer (+180)
LeBron James Over 44.5 P-R-A (-120)
Tondo: Here are some quick hitting points for my five leg parlay. Merry Christmas, and let’s ride.
-The battle of the top two teams in the East, and the Celtics are 12-5 at home. I like the matchup and the spread here.
-RJ Barrett has hit 24+ points in four of the Knicks' last five contests. He dropped 22 the last time New York played Philly in November, way before he was hitting his current stride.
-Miami isn’t losing four straight. They need this one bad. Dolphins -3.5
-DeAndre Hopkins is due, he hasn’t scored since Week 12, and the Cardinals don’t have many options for scorers.
-James has played 15 games on Christmas Day, posting averages of 25.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists. He has 12 20-point games on Christmas Day, including four 30-point games. He's had seven double-doubles and one triple-double. Give me the over!
Basel's Christmas Day Parlay
5 Legs (+3226)
Knicks/Sixer UNDER 218.5 (-115)
Grizzlies -4.5 (-110)
Jerry Jeudy Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+155)
Trace McSorley UNDER 191.5 Pass Yards (-110)
Jayson Tatum OVER 7.5 Rebounds (-105)
Basel: Yo! I haven't done a parlay for the House in a very long time, so here's hoping we cash out big and I'm financially inspired to do more! Here are some quick pointers for my picks.
Two intense, slow-paced NBA teams will produce an exciting, yet low-scoring opener for this year's Christmas slate. Look for Randle and Embiid to spend much of the game knocking each other around the paint.
The Grizzlies' most recent stretch of games (blowout wins over Milwaukee and Phoenix that bookend losses to the Thunder and Nuggets) is pretty hard to make heads or tails of, but when they're hot, they're HOT. I think they can cover pretty confidently against an injured Warriors squad.
If Jeudy finds one hole in this Rams defense, he's breaking free. The Rams' pass defense has been fairly porous this year, so I think the former Bama receiver will be able to find the right lane at least once today.
The Bucs are a top-3 defense in total pass yards allowed this season, and are Top 10 in sacks. McSorley will struggle under pressure as Tampa looks to maintain their tight playoff advantage.
7.5 Total rebounds is just under Tatum's Christmas Day average (8.1), and slightly over his average against Milwaukee (6.5). He's had a solid December off the glass, and he's got the physicality to outmuscle most Bucks not named Giannis.
