Sunday Spreads Season 3, Volume 7: The Jets Aren't an Underdog?!

Image: New York Jets

Not the best week for Tondo and I last week, but we've got some good ones cooked up for you to help you bounce back from a tough Week 6. I think we've got a good slate here today, so here are our picks for every Sunday matchup in Week 7.

Basel's 2022 ATS: 20-20 (3-3 Week 6)

Tondo's 2022 ATS: 18-17-5 (3-3 Week 6)

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts

Coming off of a bye, and just a much more talented team overall, Tennessee will have no trouble getting past this depleted Colts roster. Matt Ryan has shown that he's still got it, but with other options like Jonathan Taylor (ankle) still making a slow return, he'll have a tough time keeping up with the explosiveness of Derrick Henry.

Titans -2.5

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers

This is an absolute NIGHTMARE spread. Kansas City's defense this season has been letting some pretty weak offenses carve them up for a whopping 24.8 points allowed per game, but a 1.5 point spread might give Kansas City just enough room to cover here. We have the potential for a shootout here, but no matter what, Mahomes and Co. are a much more powerful unit than San Fran. The recent addition of CMC provides another major shakeup to this bet, so I'd again advise you to AVOID this one, but if you gotta throw some cash down here, go Chiefs -1.5.

Atlanta Falcons at Cincinnati Bengals

Guys. I don't know if you've noticed, but the Falcons are STILL a perfect 6-0 ATS this season, taking advantage of some severely underperforming offenses to disappoint their actual fans, but please bettors like myself nationwide. Joe Burrow and his Bengals are one of those underperforming units this year, and while I think they'll get the win, I am HAMMERING Falcons +6.5.

New York Jets at Denver Broncos

I said it last week, and I will say it again; JET. THE. F---. UP. Aside from Russel Wilson being sidelined today due to a hamstring injury, this Jets team has proven that they're an offense with HUGE potential. Breece Hall is making a strong case for OROY in 2022, and if he can bust out into the open field at any point today, Jets -1.5 is as good a bet as any.

Houston Texans at Las Vegas Raiders

The Texans are not that good, but are a bettor's dream at 3-1-1 ATS. Derek Carr has rarely helped me out on this column, so I'm going Texans +6.5 purely out of spite.

Sunday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins

The return of Tua is a bit of a shaky one to make a prediction on, but considering who he has around him, I think Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle should be able to excel in the short passing game to get a lot of yardage against Pittsburgh. If anything, Raheem Mostert is set up perfectly to have a breakout game on the ground. The Dolphins got plenty of options to ensure a pretty safe victory.

Dolphins -7.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers

A weird season for both teams. The Bucs are a weirdly constructed team but still one of the tops teams in the NFC, while the Panthers are now looking to deconstruct their squad. CMC was traded to the 49ers, who’s next? A lopsided matchup that surely should be a Tampa Bay by two touchdown victory. Give me Buccaneers-13.5.

Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

Welcome back Dak, but why? Cooper Rush has been holding down the fort, why fix something that’s not broken? I know the Lions are banged up, but let’s spice things up and see them cover. I’ll go Lions +6.5

Green Bay Packers vs. Washington Commanders

The team with a new name but no identity is now using a new quarterback this week. With Carson Wentz out, welcome back Taylor Heinicke. Packers are 1-4-1 ATS and loss back to back weeks. For Rodgers sanity, they have to win big today. I’ll take Packers -4.5

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

Both teams have underperformed and both teams are dealing with injuries across the board. The Browns are 0-3 straight up and ATS in the past three games. Time to make it 4. Ravens -6.5

New York Giants vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

I know the analytics are going to say the Jags have a sound defense and they have home field advantage, but the New York Football Giants have GRIT. All week they’ve been touted the dogs. You can justify that against the Packers and Ravens, but no way in hell the Jags. Is this even a question? Hammer Giants +3

Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Speaking of weird seasons, the Seahawks have been a surprised competitor, while the Chargers should be more dominant. I wish I could confidently say LA will smoke them, but I cannot. Their last two games, they won by less than 4 points. Therefore, Seahawks +5.
