The best Christmas movie of all time - "It's a Wonderful Life"

The holiday season is always filled with tradition. From Christmas cookies, decorating the trees, holiday mass, or stuffing stockings, every family has one special one. My mom always has one request, and that is watching a movie on Christmas Eve. 8pm every year, we turn on an all-time classic, It's a Wonderful Life.

The 1946 classic was beyond it's time, in my opinion. I am a sucker for the older movies, but this one always puts a smile on my face. It may be because of the holiday sentiment, and the fact that it makes my mom happy, but it also might be because of the message and story.

The movie is about a Mr. George Bailey, a man who has given up his personal dreams, in order to help others in his community. After years of forgoing his dreams, he feels that suicide is his only option for escape. While trying this on Christmas Eve, his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody, comes to his rescue to show how wonderful and important his life was and is.

James Stewart as George Bailey is one of the all-time performances in cinematic history. The range of emotion is portrayed perfectly by all. But the overall plot and meaning are something truly special. It also home to one of the best lines ever. "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings. '

The original intention by Frank Capra was to create a sentimental movie that would provide an uplifting message after the terrible losses of World War II. 75 years later and the movie continues to do the same.

For those who feel stuck in their life, or feel they don't have meaning, then this movie is a must watch. You ARE important, no matter what.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, friends.
