The Bronx Tales: Who's back of the week? Tommy Kahnle!!!

OH HELLO! I love when a fan favorite comes back to the Bronx. A 2 year 11.5M dollar deal is perfect money spent on the ultimate locker room guy, and efficient reliever.

When Kahnle fell to Tommy John, I knew his tenure with the Yankees was about to end. The 2010 fifth round selection was snagged by the Rockies in the 2013 Rule 5 Draft, but made his way back to the Yankees in 2017. Honestly, that was one of my favorite deadline trades ever. An absolute move by Cashman to swing Todd Frazier, David Robertson, and Kahnle for a few penny stock prospects.

In four years with the Yanks, Tommy Kahnle pitched 112 innings with 157 strikeouts. He fell to TJ in the COVID year, and then signed with the Dodgers. He made his return late this past season, pitching in 13 games for Los Angeles down the stretch.

The bullpen obviously needs to be addressed still. Kahnle takes the place of Miguel Castro essentially, who just signed with the Diamondbacks. I would assume that Chapman, Britton, and Green are all off the books in 2023. That leaves Clay Holmes, Mike King, Wandy Peralta, Lou Trivino, Jonathan Loáisiga, Lucas Leutge, and Ron Marianaccio. Either way, hyped to have Kahnle back!
