The Dodgers have broken baseball contracts with Teoscar Hernandez deferring money on a one-year deal.

Well, the Dodgers are going to Dodger this year, huh? Their rich free-agency continues to be a success, where now they land Outfielder Teoscar Hernández on a one-year, $23.5 million contract.

Reports were saying that he would land a contract around the three- to five-year range, in the ballpark of around $20-22 million per year. Okay, cool. So he got a little more money and opted for a single year. If he performs, he can get a bigger deal in the following off-season. Fine. But how about Hernandez differing $8.5 million to 2030 and beyond? Are you serious?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but baseball contracts are broken now. The CBA is going to come in a cause another shutdown. Teams are now just going to defer money forever, and when the can is kicked down another decade they'll just pin it on someone else to fix.

Big time problem for 2024 and beyond. Also, all of this so you can lose to the Diamondbacks in six? Yikes...
