Exciting news coming out of FriarTown, as former Friar Ed Croswell, lands a summer league invite with the Utah Jazz.
Known for his offensive rebounding skills, Croswell collected 127 boards last year, finishing in the top 15 in the country in offensive rebound percentage. Last season, Croswell averaged 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds for Providence, helping them post a 21-12 record and a bid to the tournament. He collected eight double-doubles, including a 25 point and 13 rebound performance against Georgetown.
Croswell worked out for the Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards during the pre-draft process, but now he eyes a chance to join fellow former Friar, Kris Dunn, in Utah.
He hopes to join former Providence College standout, Kris Dunn, in the NBA. The Jazz's power forwards and centers include Taylor Hendricks, Kelly Olynyk, Rudy Gay, Walker Kessler, and Vernon Carey Jr. Croswell eyes to impress in the summer leagues and hopefully grab a depth spot in the big leagues. If he ends up with Utah's G-League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, he'll be joined by another Rhode Islander, Justin Mazzulla, who has accepted a role on their staff.
