The Metropolitan Poll Vol. 13: Wagner Climbs to Number 2

Updated: Mar 4, 2021

As the regular season winds to a close, we at House Enterprise unveil our penultimate Metro Poll. Without further ado, let's see what our pundits thought this week, as well as preview one of our top team's chance to clinch a bid.

The Metro Poll-Week 13

Reaction

Wagner looks to be finishing their climb this season barring a St. John's meltdown this week, while the rest of our Metro teams continue to stagnate due to a lot of games this week being cancelled. For LIU and SFBK, it looks like their road ends here, as they failed to clinch a spot in the NEC Tournament. Fordham is going to make their return in the first round A-10 Tournament this week, and barring any miracles, it's likely they'll move into the head coach search full-fledged.

Wagner Heads to the NEC

Despite having their 10-game win streak snapped against CCSU, Wagner has earned both a postseason berth, as well as a possible regular season Conference Championship. For a team that was voted eighth in the NEC preseason poll, Wagner is doing pretty well for themselves. Depending on how these last two games between Bryant and Mount St. Mary's play out, Wagner is set to take on either MSM or Merrimack in the conference semifinals on Saturday. Wagner took both games against MSM this season, while both of their games against Merrimack were postponed. To be successful, it looks like all Wagner needs to maintain their excellent shooting performances sustained during their massive win-streak.
