Way too early thoughts, should the Giants trade for DeAndre Hopkins this offseason?

Oh? Kyler Murray about to lose their only legitimate piece to a playoff run. Let the speculation begin! This just smells like a Bill Belichick move, especially if they sign Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator.

But what if there was another team that could use an elite WR 1 and big endzone threat, it's the New York Football Giants. No kidding, right? In perspective, Darius Slayton had had 46 catches for 724 yards and 2 TD’s in 16 games. In a shortened season due to suspension, Hopkins had 64 catches for 717 yards and 3 TD’s.... in only 9 games. Colt McCoy was also tossing him the ball. See what I'm saying?!

There is a few things that would need to happen for this to work. First, are the Cardinals actually going to pull trig on this? Secondly, as the reports state, Hopkins will need a revised deal. Heading into his 30's, the Cardinals can't get too greedy asking for multiple first's, let alone any firsts. The Giants will also be in a better cap situation, with some saying at least $58M before any cuts and releases.

I'm split right now, but my gut leans towards yes. If they can land a guy like that, man, no telling what the Giants can do, but there are other moves need to be made.

Now obviously, the focus is on this weekend and the playoff matchup against the Vikings. My next order of business is to lock up Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Julian Love, and Darius Slayton. Heck, throw in Jihad Ward and Tony Jefferson. Pay the guys that worked hard this season.

If they can somehow move Kenny G this offseason, that would be icing on the cake. If the Cardinals want a big receiver, he's all there's, but jokes aside, it looks like he's getting cut. Either way, Giants fans, should the team try to acquire D-Hop?
