Welcome back College Hoops; Opening Night Odds to start the season!

Things you love to see in November...

  • Fall foliage

  • Black Friday deals

  • The return of College Hoops

We slept in May and we returned this fall, College Hoops is back and we couldn't be more excited! House Enterprise announced our partnership with College Hoops Digest and we are ready to roll for opening night.

The first night, and we are already in for a treat. No.3 ranked Kansas will face off against Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans. Former ASU guard, Remy Martin, will hope to lead Kansas to a title. Their first test comes against Izzo, who falls to be ranked in the preseason standings but has a solid backcourt of Tyson Walker and Max Christie.

Following this game, the battle of the blue-bloods, and the Coach K retirement tour officially kicks off. No. 9 Duke vs. No. 11 Kentucky. Get your popcorn! It's not one of the better Duke team's we've seen in years, but Paolo Banchero is a name you're going to want to remain. A potential Wooden-Award candidate and the No.2 ranked freshman, he will help lead Krzyzewski to the promise land this season. Their first test will be a talented roster in Kentucky. Coach Cal had quite the offseason with the transfer portal, snagging guys across the league including Oscar Tshiebwe (WVU), Sahvir Wheeler (Georgia), Kellan Grady (Davidson), and CJ Frederick (Iowa)

A surprising opener in Mount St. Mary's vs. Villanova. Collin Gillespie makes his return after tearing his MCL prior the the tournament. He is arguably the most experienced and best point guard in the country, and he's hoping to collect his second National Championship. Mount was known after upsetting the Bulldogs to make their way to the Big Dance after winning the NEC. They ranked in the top 10 nationally in opponent shooting efficiency last year as well as possessing a high block rate and defensive rebound rate.

The battle of Connecticut is tonight as well. Actually, can we call it a battle? UCONN has a 15-0 all time record against CCSU, and the 24th ranked Huskies intend to keep the streak alive. The post James Bouknight era begins, but the likes of RJ Cole, Adama Sanogo, and Isiah Whaley are ready to get the season rolling.

There's dozens of games to watch, but some I'm most excited for are Louisiana Tech at Alabama, Oral Roberts at Colorado State, Fairfield at Providence, and of course the Bryant Bulldogs.

My Picks

  • Michigan State +4

  • Duke -1

  • Villanova -24.5

  • UCONN/CCSU O 142.5

  • Louisiana Tech / Alabama U 152.5

  • Oral Roberts +12.5

  • Fairfield +14.5

  • Bryant U ML
