Your NHL on ESPN doubleheader betting guide for November 1st

After a good week last week where we saw ourselves go positive, we're back again to win coin on some puck.

Game 1: Boston Bruins @ Pittsburgh Penguins

This is a great matchup. Two Eastern Conference rivals, two traditionally great hockey markets, this is what it's all about. You have the Boston Bruins, who are (surprisingly) the best team in the East thus far, with the early return of Brad Marchand.

Boston is going up against the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins. I'm not taking the Penguins struggles seriously. There are plenty of contenders who are struggling early on in the season, and if Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins have taught us anything over the years, it's that we should never count them out early.

I'll take:

  • BOS ML

  • David Pastrnak O 1.5 points

Game 2: Anaheim Ducks @ San Jose Sharks

I would say you could completely skip this game and get to bed early tonight, if not for Sharks defenseman, Erik Karlsson. It seems as if Karlsson has revived his career after years of disappointment. The former Vezina Trophy winner has 11 points in 11 games, on 6 goals and 5 assists.

The Anaheim Ducks just snapped a 7-game losing streak against the Toronto Maple Leafs of Sunday, off the back of Trevor Zegras' two goals. Anaheim is hoping that they can keep the momentum after an abysmal start to the year.

I'll take:

  • U 5.5

  • Trevor Zegras anytime goal scorer
